Blue Cut Fire Near Wrightwood Outdoor Science School

The fast-moving Blue Cut Fire that began north of Kenwood Avenue west of Interstate 15 is considered contained. There are a few crews monitoring hot spots and attending to erosion control.
The fire burned more than 36,000 acres and came with 5 or so blocks of the Outdoor Science School but there was no damage to the site. The fire crews made a stand and beat the fire back, saving the site.
