Infirmary Medical Services

Students who are not feeling well, and those with scrapes, bumps, and bruises, end up at the infirmary. There is a waiting room, the actual infirmary (bottom left), and a couple of rooms available for children who need to lie down or spend time waiting until their parents can pick them up. There are also rooms available for teachers or other infirmary help to stay for the week, though most teachers stay in the rooms under the dining hall.

The visiting teachers handle most of the infirmary issues. In addition, all of the outdoor science teachers are trained in first aid and CPR, and the outdoor school lead teacher has been trained as an EMT. If anything more serious occurs, there is a hospital about 20 minutes away.

Dietary Restrictions: Our kitchen staff works hard to serve excellent food to all students. If your student has dietary restrictions, we are happy to accommodate in ways that we are able.  Vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options are available. We have peanut and nut-free options. If the student has allergies to common foods or medical dietary needs not covered above, bringing items that are already prepared to supplement our menu is recommended.  Please have your school contact Site Director Shaun Hawke with any special dietary needs not discussed above.
