Signing Up for 2010/2011 The time has come once again to reserve a week for next school year. We are excited to begin preparing for another year of Outdoor Science School! Thank you for your commitment to this excellent educational experience. In addition to this page, you might also want to see some tips for choosing a week. Sign-up Schedule We like to reward our most loyal schools be giving those with the highest seniority first choice at choosing a week. Schools may call to reserve a spot during their assigned week based on years of continuous attendance. Please refer to the schedule below. A PDF of the priority list was recently emailed to each school. But if you are unsure of your priority level, please feel free to contact us either at LACOE, or at the sites. Week Priority Years of Attendance March 15-19 Priority One 18 years or more March 22-26 Priority Two 8-17 years March 29-April 2 Priority Three 3-7 years April 5-9 Priority Four 1-2 years April 12, and onward Open Sign-up Any School After the fourth week, the priority sign up period ends. Starting on April 12, any school (returning or new) can call to reserve any openings that remain. How to Sign-up By Phone: Schools may call the Outdoor Science School office in Downey after 8:00 AM on Monday of your sign-up week. Please have several dates in mind, as your first choice may be taken. The phone number is 562-922-6330. By FAX: You may wish to FAX the Printed Sign-up Form to 562-401-5405 during your assigned week. However, you should understand that answering the telephone will be the first priority. FAXed reservation requests are not officially confirmed until you have spoken with the Outdoor Science School office by telephone. By E-mail: You may send your reservation request via e-mail to Michelle at LACOE. Be sure to include school, district, contact person, telephone, number of students, grade level, at least three dates that will work for you, and your preferred site.
