Signing Up for 2011/2012 Registration for the following school year typically begins in February or March. Please check back here in early 2011 for complete details. In addition to this page, you might also want to see some tips for choosing a week. Sign-up Schedule We like to reward our most loyal schools be giving those with the highest seniority first choice at choosing a week. Schools may call to reserve a spot during their assigned week based on years of continuous attendance. Please refer to the schedule below. If you are unsure of your priority level, feel free to contact us. Week Priority Years of Attendance First week of sign-up Priority One 18 years or more Second week Priority Two 8-17 years Third week Priority Three 3-7 years Fourth week Priority Four 1-2 years Week 5, and onward Open Sign-up Any School After the fourth week, the priority sign up period ends, and then any school (returning or new) can call to reserve any openings which remain. How to Sign-up By Phone: Schools may call the Outdoor Science School office in Downey after 8:00 AM on Monday of your sign-up week. Please have several dates in mind, as your first choice may be taken. The phone number is 562-922-6330. By FAX: You may wish to FAX the Printed Sign-up Form to 562-401-5405 during your assigned week. However, you should understand that answering the telephone will be the first priority. FAXed reservation requests are not officially confirmed until you have spoken with the Outdoor Science School office by telephone. By E-mail: You may send your reservation request via e-mail to Michelle at LACOE. Be sure to include school, district, contact person, telephone, number of students, grade level, at least three dates that will work for you, and your preferred site.
