Infirmary Students who are not feeling well, and those with scrapes, bumps, and bruises, end up at the infirmary. There is a waiting room, the actual infirmary (bottom left), and a couple of rooms available for children who need to lie down or spend time waiting until their parents can pick them up. There are also rooms available for teachers or other infirmary help to stay for the week, though most teachers stay in the rooms under the dining hall. The visiting teachers handle most of the infirmary issues. In addition, all of the outdoor science teachers are trained in first aid and CPR, and the outdoor school principal has been trained as an EMT. If anything really serious occurs, there is a hospital about 20 minutes away. |
